Suffering Will Always Continue Cherish the Cold

The world is full of people suffering from chronic illness, disease, and stressful situations. In order to combat these struggles, we need to look into God's word to find the perfect Bible Verses about Suffering (KJV). God's Word will restore, refresh and rejuvenate our body, soul, and spirit. In this article, we are going to look at some great passages from the Bible for encouragement when you feel like giving up or your strength is gone.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

Looking for an answer on what is God's purpose for suffering? ? As a minimalist, I can simply answer that question. He allows our suffering to draw us close to Him. However, the rush of emotions or pain overwhelms us and it's hard to focus on God's promises. It's easy to get sidetracked and be encouraged. However, we must trust that the Lord has the perfect plan for us and will use the situation we are going through for His glory and purpose. We have to think of it as an honor that God is choosing us to go through this trial. Yet, the feelings of doubt, discouragement, and despair can seem too hard to handle.

1 Peter 5:10– But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

What Did Paul Say About Suffering?

Paul knows a thing or two about suffering. Paul, the Christian persecutor, was converted into a gospel preacher, thanks to Jesus' appearance. Paul's latter part of life has many sufferings. He was shipwrecked from a storm, a prisoner in jail for many years, bitten by a snake, and carried a thorn in his side until his martyred death. We could learn a thing or two by looking at him as an example and reading his God-ordained words in the New Testament.

He learned that suffering for Jesus' sake produced key godly characteristics such as patience, endurance, contentment, and hope. Here are some Bible Verses on Suffering that reveal what Paul learned during his trials and tribulations.

Romans 5:3-5 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 8:18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Romans 8:28 -And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Philippians 4:11 -Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Attitude about Suffering in the Bible

Our attitude can be a bit sour when it comes to suffering. We have two choices: accept our trial and tribulations or fester in our emotions. The latter is certainly easier, it's a challenge to accept our lives 'as is' and embrace them with full acceptance.

However, James reminds us that we must count our suffering as joy. Yes, you read that right. If you have faith that God will see you through your struggles, he will develop key character traits in you such as patience and contentment. Wouldn't that be wonderful to have the strength and endurance to handle any negative situation that comes your way!

James 1:2 – 1:4 – My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Bible Verses About Suffering Pain

What are the verses in the Bible that talk about suffering? Psalms has several Bible Verses about pain including Psalms 34:18 and Psalms 147:3. He is close to those who have a broken heart or painful experience. He will heal a broken heart and bind up wounds. Revelation 21:4 reminds us that God will wipe away every tear as someday there will be no crying or pain. What a wonderful promise of how glorious heaven is going to be when we get there!

Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Psalms 147:3 – He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Psalms 34:18 – The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Bible Verses about Suffering and Death

While you may be troubled, ignored, ridiculed, persecuted, or stressed, the Bible tells us that we have assurance that God is ALWAYS with us. Jesus suffered a horrible death so that we may have a way to God. Without Jesus, we would never get to heaven. While God left Jesus for a time so He could take on the sins of the world, He will never leave us. What a sacrifice Jesus took on agonizing pain for our sakes — to allow us to be in the presence of the Lord someday if we accept him as our Savior.

2 Corinthians 4:8 – 4:10 – We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Mark 15:34 – And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Psalm 27:1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 9:9-10 – The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Bible Verse about Suffering Being Temporary

Much of our suffering is temporary. Have you faced a trial and it finally came to end? Did you look back on it and find that you made it through with valuable lessons discovered? There is scripture that addresses suffering for a little while, so let's dive into some of these passages that discuss suffering as being temporary and short lived.

Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away
